Wege zu Luther e.V.  (Roads to Luther)
The initiative Wege zu Luther e.V., founded in 2000 with the aim to further cultural tourism stems from the continuous collaboration of Luther-related cities and sites in several central German states. It is a joined effort by the towns and cities Altenburg, Eisenach, Erfurt, Halle on the Saale, Magdeburg, Schmalkalden, Torgau, Weimar as well as Eisleben and Wittenberg.

The goals of the State office “Luther 2017” are to reveal the effects of the Reformation in art, culture, society and politics, to communicate Germany in an international context as “Land of the Reformation" and to convey the heritage of the Reformation, for example with initiatives to further cultural education.

Stadtsprung - World Heritage Experience between Harz and Elbe

Seven towns that are cultural lighthouses in central Germany have joined in a tourism cooperation effort called “City jumps: towns between Harz and Elbe”. Besides Halberstadt,  Halle (“Handel City”), Magdeburg (“Otto City”), Naumburg, and Wernigerode, this also includes the two UNESCO World Heritage towns of Dessau-Roßlau and Quedlinburg.
