The GNTB represents Germany abroad as a travel destination on behalf of the Federal Government. It markets the diverse touristic attractions that Germany has to offer worldwide. The registered association based in Frankfurt was founded in 1948 by the German Tourism Association.
Investment and Marketing GmbH (IMG) (Investment and Marketing Association Sachsen-Anhalt mbH) is the business development association of Saxony-Anhalt. On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Industry, they market the commercial and scientific significance of Saxony-Anhalt, and also handle tourism marketing at home and abroad.
Seven towns that are cultural lighthouses in central Germany have joined in a tourism cooperation effort called “City jumps: towns between Harz and Elbe”. Besides Halberstadt, Halle (“Handel City”), Magdeburg (“Otto City”), Naumburg, and Wernigerode, this also includes the two UNESCO World Heritage towns of Dessau-Roßlau and Quedlinburg.
The “Saale Regulars” is a group of dedicated people who want to contribute to improving life along and on the Saale River. Anyone interested may participate.
The Förderverein Region Halle (Saale) e.V. is a local association, founded in January 2009, with the aim to raise awareness of this region, with its enormous diversity, demonstrating the beauty of this land to its visitors.
The local association called Citygemeinschaft Halle e.V. is an amalgamation of many stakeholders in the downtown area who continually work on the improvement of accessibility to the town center and the expansion of customer services in the city of Halle. They also plan major events such as the Easter Market and the Festival of Lights, as well as organize downtown shopping sundays.
The Förderverein Pro Halle e.V. is a local promotional association that was founded in 2003. Its mission is to support and promote the economic, touristic and cultural development of Halle on the Saale. Eminent local businesses have joined forces with the Förderverein.
Halle’s leading cultural, educational and scientific institutions are: the Handel House Foundation; the Francke Foundation; the Moritzburg Art Museum of Halle; the State Museum of Prehistory; the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg; the Burg Giebichenstein College of Fine Arts; and the Halle Theatre, Opera and Orchestra GmbH.
