For over 200 years the restaurant "Krug zum Grunen Kranze" has been well known and traditional German guest house. It is located directly on the River Saale with picturesque views of the Giebichenstein Castle and the Halleschen Bergzoo. Their beer garden with old chestnut trees couldn't be more inviting, especially on warm summer night.
Just 15 km west of Halle lies a hotel that was built as a castle in the "Grunderzeit" (economic phase) of the late 19th century and is surrounded by an 18-hectare castle park with a pond and a neoclassical pavilion.
The main building was built 1871-1873 as a school originally, but has since been redesigned and renovated as a contemporary youth hostel. Its central location is particularly attractive for families or groups.
